If last week taught me anything, it’s this: When life starts swinging, your WHY better be stronger than the hit.
Some weeks are smooth. Some weeks stretch you.
And then there are weeks like this one — the kind that test your patience, your discipline, your identity, and your emotional bandwidth all at once.
If you’re a high-performing leader, a parentpreneur, or someone trying to balance responsibility with impact… you know exactly what I mean.
This week for me was:
- Parenting milestones and parenting meltdowns
- A major RAL investment breakthrough and late-night paperwork
- Emotional turbulence in my marriage
- Career clarity and new doors opening
- Sleep deprivation, school drop-offs, and big decisions
- Moments of gratitude mixed with moments I had to pray my way through
It felt like living three different lives at the same time.
And when weeks like this hit, there’s only one framework that keeps you grounded:
The Motivational Fuel Framework™ WHY – WILL – WIN
That week wasn’t about structure.
Not planning.
Not optimization.
It was pure emotional and spiritual fuel.
Let’s break it down using the ENERGIZE Pillar:
Instead of asking why me, ask what is it teaching me?
WHY – What Anchors You
Your WHY is what you lead from when your world gets loud.
That week my WHY showed up over and over:
- My oldest saying, “Daddy, shoes. Come on, let’s go!”
- My youngest being extra huggy and malambing
- My oldest starting 1st grade
- My mission to serve leaders AND families at the highest level
- Faith conversations
- RAL acceptance; securing generational impact
- Seeing strangers become opportunities
- Hearing encouraging words on the toughest days
But the strongest WHY?
My daughters. Every laugh, every milestone, every breakthrough… every sleepless night. A WHY doesn’t need to be perfect. But it must be honest. And mine is simple:
To lead with intentionality so my girls can inherit a legacy of purpose, not regret.
What’s yours?
WILL – What You Push Through
The WILL is where real leadership happens.
Because that week?
My WILL was tested hard.
- Emotional disconnect at home
- Feeling unappreciated
- Hospital follow-ups
- Endless errands
- Paperwork
- Sleep deprivation
- Job searching
- Investor calls
- Learning curves
- Noise from ALL angles
But here’s what WILL looks like:
You keep going even when you’re tired.
You stay the course even when the path feels unclear.
You show up even when your emotions don’t want to.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to keep moving.
This week forced me to lean into this line from my journal:
“Instead of asking why me, ask what is it teaching me?”
Every leader needs to ask that, especially when life punches.
WIN – What You Celebrate (Even When It’s Small)
Leaders who don’t celebrate small wins eventually burn out.
That week wasn’t all chaos, it was packed with wins:
Personal Wins
- My oldest: “Daddy, shoes. Let’s go!”
- My youngest and her hugs
- More words from my oldest
- Girls playing, laughing, bonding
- Bus moments
- Birthday celebrations
- Ice cream outings
Professional Wins
- 16-bed RAL offer ACCEPTED
- Partnership LLC progress
- Great calls with potential investors
- New career path clarity
- Resume updated
- Networking breakthroughs
- Multiple SkillBridge opportunities
Life Wins
- A reminder that God really is in control
- A reminder that I am built for this
- A reminder that I don’t walk this alone
Your wins matter, even the ones no one sees but you.
Conclusion:
Leadership isn’t built in quiet seasons. It’s built in the messy, imperfect, chaotic middle. And if this week taught me anything; it’s this:
When life gets loud, lead with your WHY.
When life gets heavy, lean on your WILL.
And when life feels slow, celebrate your WINS.
That’s intentional leadership. That’s impact. That’s how we create meaning in the middle of the madness.
