If you can’t see the future you want, how will you ever achieve it?
If you’re a high performer who leads others—you carry a heavy load. Your schedule is full, your responsibilities are high, and people are counting on you to deliver.
Here’s a question that’s probably been whispering in the back of your mind: “Am I headed in the right direction?” Or are you just grinding every day with no clear destination?
That’s where the power of vision—and faith—comes in.
Vision isn’t just a “nice-to-have.” It’s the internal compass that keeps your leadership aligned, your family focused, and your work purposeful.
I want to show you how to become a vision-driven leader using the Vision Mapping Model from my Visualize Pillar. And more importantly, I want you to see how your faith and vision together can create unstoppable clarity and momentum.
The Problem:
“I have all these goals swirling in my head, but no clear plan to reach them. How do I even begin creating a roadmap for my future?”
You’ve got ambition. You’ve got purpose. But without a crystal-clear vision, all those goals become noise.
You’re busy—but you’re not moving toward what matters most. You’re executing—but without direction, your energy feels scattered.
Sound familiar?
Here’s the truth: You can’t hit a target you haven’t visualized.
That’s why vision—combined with faith in your ability to achieve it—is the first step to intentional leadership.
The Vision Mapping Model™:
Here’s how you go from foggy ambition to focused action:
1. Define – What does your ideal future look like? (Faith in your WHY)
2. Design – What does it require? Who are you becoming to achieve it?
3. Decide – What needs to change? Where will you begin?
4. Do – What will you take action on today to move one step closer?

This model isn’t just about setting goals—it’s about building the life and leadership legacy you were meant for.
Try This Exercise: Write down your ideal day, five years from now. From the moment you wake up to when your head hits the pillow, describe everything: Where are you? Who are you with? What are you doing that brings joy and purpose?
That vivid description becomes your internal GPS. From there, you reverse engineer the path.
Your future isn’t something you stumble into. It’s something you see, believe, and build—one intentional step at a time.
Personal Story:
There was a season in my life while I was still in the service. I was juggling deployments, building a coaching practice, and leading my family. During this time, I felt like I was drowning in responsibility but starving for clarity.
I remember sitting in my office one night, overwhelmed, and asking, “God, where am I even going with all this?”
That moment sparked a shift. I stopped obsessing over the HOW and instead leaned into the WHY and the WHAT. I wrote out my ideal future. I imagined my dream day, and for the first time, I gave myself permission to believe it could happen. Writing about my life in the future; one year, five years from now.
That written vision became my anchor. It fueled my faith. And it gave me clarity during the chaos.
Today, so much of that vision is now reality. And it started with one decision: to lead with vision, not reaction.
New Problem:
“Once I create a vision, how do I stay focused when life throws curveballs?”
Life doesn’t respect your plans. Curveballs are guaranteed. But here’s the key: When your vision is clear, your faith grows stronger.
Distractions lose their power when your destination is locked in.
Stay Grounded in Vision:
📝 Write It Down: Spend 10 minutes this week writing your ideal day in detail. Don’t be afraid to aim high.
🖼️ Create a Vision Board: Use images that reflect the life and leadership you’re building. This was key for me personally.
🧠 Visualize Daily: Take 2 minutes each morning to revisit that vision. Insider tip: Have that vision board where you can easily see it every day.
It’s simple. It’s powerful. It works.
