Here’s the exact process I follow to ensure my decisions reflect what I stand for:
- Conduct a Values Audit: Take stock of how well your current decisions align with your values. Does it? If not, how can you?
- Refine Your Mission Statement: Make sure it reflects your personal principles. This is something I revisit often to keep myself grounded.
- Create Accountability: Schedule regular check-ins—whether solo or with a group of like minded individuals in a group. This will help keep you aligned.
But let’s be real. Staying true to our values isn’t always that easy, right? I know I’ve faced some moments where the easy route clashed with my principles, but those moments are the ones that defines us as leaders. Just remember, aligning isn’t about perfecting; it’s about being consistent and correcting the course.
